About Kastella Design Studio
Kastella Design Studio is a female-owned boutique interior design practice founded in 2023 by certified interior designer Dimitra Dorbacopoulos, following her tenure at Gensler Los Angeles and an accomplished career in the design industry since 2005.
Based in Los Angeles, Kastella’s work extends across the United States and Europe, spanning hospitality, wellness, healthcare, sports and entertainment, commercial, government defense, and education. Each project is approached with a focus on merging beauty with performance, balancing cultural sensitivity, strategic storytelling, and rigorous technical expertise to deliver interiors that are functional, scalable, and emotionally resonant.

Kastella Design Studio was founded out of a desire to offer a more dedicated and design-focused partnership to clients in the health and hospitality sectors. After nearly two decades leading projects with top-tier design firms, including a formative tenure at Gensler Los Angeles, Dimitra Dorbacopoulos was inspired by the support of close industry relationships to establish her own studio in 2023.
Rooted in her dual Greek and Angeleno heritage, Dimitra built Kastella to reflect a philosophy of human-centered design, where precision meets passion and every detail tells a story. Today, Kastella continues to collaborate with forward-thinking partners to create transformative spaces that elevate experience, celebrate culture, and endure over time.

Her career includes leadership roles at leading architecture and design firms and collaborations with global contracting companies, guiding large scale, multi-phased projects that merge creativity, clarity, and long term impact.
